Gerard de Pender, Senior Product Manager at Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V. comments: “In 2006, the Ricoh Group obtained a European wide format market share of 28.6% and boosted the low end digital market. We have used all our experience and know-how from the last years onto the new wide format SP W2470. Compared to inkjet plotters, this wide format device has major advantages. The cost per page is significantly lower as the SP W2470 prints on normal paper. Inkjet customers will appreciate the fast, constant print speed and the fact that the output does not smear in case it gets wet.”
Producing high output speeds of up to 2 A0s or 4 A1s per minute, the SP W2470 quickly responds to urgent demands. Following a warm-up of under 2 minutes, the first A1 output is ready in less than 20 seconds. As the SP W2470 uses LED technology, the print speed does not depend on the coverage of the document.
With the SP W2470’s 2 standard Roll Feeders, users can print all typical engineering sizes. These include A1 and A0, small A4 or A3 documents and very long prints up to 15 metres without a roll change. If users need to print on non-standard sizes or materials, the standard bypass offers exceptional possibilities on calques, film or other materials. With the optional paper cassette cut sheet paper of up to A3 size is readily available. For added convenience, the unique fan folder vertically folds the paper into a ‘fan’, creating impeccably finished output, ready for distribution.
Due to its 600 dpi resolution, the SP W2470 produces output at the highest quality. Through LED toner technology, impeccable quality is guaranteed at all times, even when printing on standard 80 g/m². Prints are waterproof so the risk of smeared images is eliminated.
With a width of under 110 cm and a depth of less than 70 cm, the SP W2470 occupies very little space for a wide format printer. This device can conveniently be placed close to users enabling them to check plots and scans directly from their desks.
The SP W2470 is able to print from any type of computer or platform and from applications as diverse as AutoCAD® and Windows® or other applications commonly used in technical environments. Users can send print jobs through various networks at the same time, independently of their operating systems.
The SP W2470 is the latest addition to Nashuatec’s wide format product range. Nashuatec currently manufactures one of the world’s most extensive line-ups of copiers, printers, scanners and multifunctional devices, as well as software solutions.
